Abstract

In this report, I will analyze Kote Jandieri’s short story Invitation to the Cinema in which, with natu­ralistic precision are portrayed the passions and pains of the main character – a young man gifted with the ability to write. The environment and its accompanying sense of alienation are so oppressive for the protagonist that he chooses inner emigration, detachment, and deviance;
