Abstract

The leader of the National-Democratic Party and writer – Giorgi Chanturia entered the Georgian political arena in the 70’es of the twentieth century. The topic of the writer’s contemplations is eminently no ble: restoring lost faith and freedom, surviving as an individual – primal condition of the nation’s existence. In the novel “New Lamentations of Jeremiah” – the author predicted his future – the year of his assassination.

Twenty-five years have passed since his murder and 29 – since the first publication of his works. The political hurricanes have passed; it is time for the public to get to know Giorgi Chanturia closely.
