Notable Concepts of Hybrid Literature: Georgian Example (Nino Kharatishvili’s Nover "The Eighth Life (for Brilka)"
Abstract
One of the distinctive features of hybrid literature is blurring clear ethnic and cultural boundaries
and the creation of a new multicultural phenomenon containing diverse cultural-literary values. It should
be noted that it is impossible to divide hybrid literature and writers into categories, in terms of national
affiliation. The article is about one of such writer Nino Kharatishvili, a successful author living and
working in Germany, who has stated in numerous interviews that the essence of her literary hybridity is
"splitting", doubling. In the article we analize the novel "The Eighth Life (for Brilka)" as an outstanding
example of hibrid literature.
