Polar Concepts of Fear and Love in the “Society of the Formers” (Based on Irakli Samsonadze’s Short Novel The Cushion)
Abstract
In just one continuous paragraph, the writer conveys the biggest trauma caused to his generation by the geopolitical changes of those times, the civil war and the country facing an absolute economic collapse. The idea of the novel is to demonstrate and analyze the polar concepts of fear and love. The main character of the novel is a member of the “society of the formers”, a writer who has become functionless in Georgia in the 1990s.
