Abstract
This text discusses the significance of dialogue in fiction, specifically analyzing its use in Besik Kharanauli's "Potato Removal." It explains that dialogue serves not just as everyday speech but as an integral part of literary texts, carrying specific artistic functions.
The analysis draws on Mikhail Bakhtin's literary theory, particularly his concepts of "Voice of the people" and internal dialogue. The text emphasizes that dialogue in fiction involves multiple participants: the author, characters, and readers, each bringing different perspectives.
The study focuses on Kharanauli's poem, which features two main dialogic interactions: between the lyrical hero and his mother, and between the hero and his teenage son. Notably, the hero often responds to his mother's spoken lines through inner speech, demonstrating a non-classical form of dialogue. The research aims to examine these dialogue passages in detail, analyzing specific examples and investigating what factors determine the various dialogue forms present in the poem.
