Abstract

How Arabic literature is produced? How is it translated and distributed on the world market? A 20th century dichotomy in Arabic Culture: traditional – modern, is changed by the market orientated logic in the 21st century. Nowadays the lists of bestsellers are regulated by local book market and by different international literary prizes. But the problem is that sometimes none of them are objective, as Western prizes or priorities might be different from the Arabic literary canon. World literature is also under the
influence of global market. So, the internationalization of Arabic Literary product largely depends on commerce.
